Ryan was one of Xiron's Chessmen Lesser Nobodies. A Bishop amongst them, he was one of the first, and was the de facto leader of the group. Like all the Chessmen, he was an Independent Nobody, though chooses to serve under Xiron.
He died attempting to defend the Tower from an attack by Nikita, receiving several bullet wounds that proved fatal.
